Clyde's Fund
Clyde's Fund was established in memory of a husky mix named Clyde. His owner surrendered him to Heart of Jackson Humane Society on 11/12/22. Clyde was in desperate need of veterinary care that his owner could not afford. He was very thin weighing 36# with a sore on his rear. Clyde was a sweet and loving dog who lived outside on a chain.
Our veterinarian discovered a bilateral mass on Clyde's perineum that could be a perineal hernia. Neutering was performed in hopes that it may help the hernia close. Although the hernia was not as large the next day, Clyde was severely lethargic and vomiting. Blood work revealed non-regenerative anemia with chronic kidney failure. The difficult decision was made to euthanize Clyde.
In memory of this courageous, handsome, and wonderful dog, Heart of Jackson Humane Society started Clyde's Fund to help pets whose owners need financial assistance to help keep them healthy. Clyde's Fund helps take the financial strain off pet owners by assisting with medical conditions requiring veterinary care for their pets.
If you or someone you know needs veterinary care for a pet, please contact us at 785-364-5156.
